After pitching seven seasons for the lowly Seattle Mariners in the 1980s, Mike Moore was ready to join a winner. As a free agent following the 1988 season, he did exactly that, signing with the talent rich Oakland A's that went on to win the 1989 World Series interrupted by the Loma Prieta earthquake.
